Catching up with Lucy

Many of you know I’ve been pretty spotty publishing posts to this blog. I’ve gone long stretches where I’ve posted nothing. That includes the eight months since Lucy has been born. Dave and I will be seeing Lucy and Caleb in a couple weeks, and I hope to come up with a blog post to cover that visit. In the meantime, to get you caught up with Lucy, here is a cut-and-paste of Meagan’s monthly Instagram posts documenting each new month.

One month with sweet little Lucy 💕

Lucy is two months old! She has found her smile, her voice, and her hands 😄 💕

Lucy has started laughing and it’s the best! She loves her crinkle toy and watching her big brother 💕 and her hair continues to be fabulous 😆

It’s been a big month for our girl! She can now roll over both ways, has two teeth, went on her first plane ride to Florida, and met Santa! 🎄 Someone let Lucy know she can slow down a little bit if she wants to 😆

Lucy is five months old and had a busy month with lots of family time! She had a great first Christmas, but despite all the toys her favorite source of entertainment right now is her big brother! She loves lift the flap books and her play mat. It will be amazing to see how much she grows and changes over the next year 💕

Happy 6 months! Lucy is always happy to see mom and dad but she lights up the most when her big brother is around! He’s the best at making her laugh. She’s a very good sport being “mean baby dinosaur” every night chasing him around. She’s been loving trying new foods and got to experience snow for the first time ❄️ She’s so observant and learning so much every day 💕 Time is going so fast!

7 months old! Lucy is taking after her big brother with her love of food. Her favorite is sweet potatoes but she seems to enjoy it all. She is super strong and will be ready to crawl any day now. She always gives a big smile when we come downstairs from sleeping and her brother says “Hi baby Lucy!!” 💕 🥰

8 months is lots of fun with Lucy girl! She is a girl on the move, crawling all over and feeling so proud when we help her stand up. Her favorite toys are Leo’s water dish and random kitchen utensils 😄 She has a glare that cracks me up and her laughing fits are the best. She is determined and brave and so fun!

Thank goodness for family group chats, shared Photo albums, and FaceTime. But it is more than time for me to see this little girl and her big brother in person.
