Building My Audience

Nicole and I visited my mother-in-law who is in rehab following yet another knee surgery.

She mentioned she wanted a new camera.

So I bought her an iPad. (With her money. I’m not that nice.)

She has never been “connected”, but Dave has been showing her what is possible with his iPad, so she thought it was time to take that step.

This is the second time I’ve done something like this. A few years ago, I set up my grandmother on Facebook, which was the thing back then. This time, I got my mother-in-law onto Instagram, and she is now following the five of us.

I also went ahead and subscribed her to my blog using her new email address. And installed an icon on her home screen that brings her directly to my blog.

I’m thinking I’ll do that for my grandmother as well.

Look at that. New followers.
