A Home Improvement

While working at the condo, I got the itch to go beyond the constant home maintenance and DIY phases in our own house and venture into the major home improvement category.

I couldn’t take the thought of having the family room carpet cleaned yet again, and I was never really in love with it anyway, so I decided to have it replaced with hardwood flooring.

I got grief about this change from three sources: Nicole, Heather, and Copper. Nicole doesn’t like any kind of change in the house, and she even gave some serious grief to the installers. (They were good sports about it and put up with her.) Heather thought the money could have been better spent on the Patriots season tickets my brother was selling. And Copper has made it clear she is not happy that there isn’t a rug in front of the fireplace even though she has overtaken a chair in the room.
