A Busy Day

Where does the day go?
In addition to the every day, mundane tasks of making phone calls, paying bills, driving to appointments, and cooking dinner, I managed to squeeze in the following:

  • Did some “research” on flipping houses and took a look at some interesting houses for under $200K on Redfin.
  • Also learned how to use a fish tape to pull a cable up through a wall. What did we do without the Internet?
  • Met with a solar panel guy (from a different company than the one at the home show.)  Now I want to buy the solar panels rather than lease them.  The reasoning is this: The panels cost $35K, but we would get $11K back.  So they’re sort of on sale for 1/3 off.  Some women buy a new dress on sale.  I buy solar panels on sale.  And insulation.
  • Watched some workers operate large machinery. I felt like a 5 year old boy. Or my grandfather. I had the urge to go out and help them, but I figured it might be against safety regulations.  I was envious of that chipper.

  • Installed the new thermostat.  The instructions said it would take 15 minutes.  It took me 20 just to find the circuit breaker.  Whoever labelled those breakers has a sick sense of humor.  I got it installed in under an hour, but I can’t get the fan to shut off. So, a phone call tomorrow.
  • Party for the birthday boy with store-bought cupcakes from Target.

Laughed out loud several times. A 5 year old boy watching them work? Too funny.
