Scrapbook: Heather’s Room

I finally worked up the nerve to completely redo Heather’s room. It was pretty frightening since she insisted I not change a thing, especially the Summer Blue paint color. I did not share any of it with her until it was all done. She saw it for the first time when she showed up here the night before we left for Florida. Before she took a look, I made her promise not to be too mad at me right before vacation. She was actually pretty good.

Here is how the room has changed over the years:

Now, this was all my designer’s doing. (As you may remember, my decorating style favors hearts and ducks.) I was planning on getting rid of all the athletic awards and trophies, but she recommended keeping some and introducing a couple of action shots on canvas. I jumped at the suggestion.

Heather thinks it’s a little odd waking up to large photos of herself, and she thinks she looks positively scary in the soccer photo.

But that’s what I like about it.
