Women’s Weekend

I’m too old to be considered a girl, and I don’t have enough social graces to be considered a lady. So, I’m calling it Women’s Weekend. Of course, “weekend” is also technically incorrect since it lasted until Wednesday.

This is another rerun from last year with a few character changes. Three dropped out and two joined – a sister and a friend of a cousin of a brother-in-law.

Themes continued from last year: Outfits are extremely important. And so is food.

In addition to dressing and eating, primary activities included golfing for two of us, shopping for two of us,  and reading on the beach or by the pool for two of us. I bet you can guess what category I fell under.

I’ve had quite a few years to warm up to my sisters, but who would have thought I would get along with unrelated shoppers and golfers? Even the new one. I was skeptical at first, but I quickly decided I liked her. I’m always surprised when that happens.

I actually did hit three or four golf balls. At night. Into a pond. It was fun, but if the sun is out, I’d rather be on the beach.

I also have this thing about birds when I’m down there.

And while some of the others chose to do hot yoga, there was no way I was going to be inside one more minute than I had to while I was down there. I knew what I was coming back to.

On top of the the dressing, eating, golfing, shopping, exercising, beaching, pooling, reading, and bird watching, there were great conversations with the parents, the sisters, and the unrelated golfers and shoppers.

All in all, a very relaxing weekeeeeeennnnndddd in the warmth.
