Scrapbook: Front Yard

There is a house behind our yard through the woods. We can’t see them, but we can hear them. The kids. Laughing, yelling, and playing outside.

It makes me smile. It makes me sad.

I would be able to put up with the constant work required to maintain this house.

I would also be able to put up with the constant spending required to maintain this house.

If I could only hear those sounds again in our own yard.

This yard is meant to be used. So it is time to move on.

Now, don’t get too excited. I’m not making any promises or deadlines. Nicole has another year of high school, so nothing will happen before then. And we have no idea where we want to move. I’m thinking both a northern location and a southern location, either on or near the water. But to have any chance of accomplishing that, I’m making my husband work for several more years much to his dismay. And, of course, I’m very conflicted. I can’t imagine finding a more comfortable house or a more beautiful yard. We’ve put a lot of time and effort in here to make this perfect for us. And it is perfect.  So who knows when I will actually get around to putting this plan into action.

However, in preparation for eventually moving out of this home of 27 years, I’ll be putting together a scrapbook on this blog.

This is the first page.
