Mexico

Another photo gallery post. Hope that’s working for you.

My world traveler is at it again. This time for pleasure. After having gone to Arkansas and visiting the Bill Clinton museum (I didn’t cover that trip in a blog post) and then coming home for Christmas, Meagan visited Andres and his family in Mexico. She was a little nervous about the trip because she doesn’t speak Spanish, and she wasn’t sure how many members of his extended family spoke English.

But she had a great time, and his family loved having her there. They certainly kept her busy and treated her to quite a bit.

The Churches

Meagan says there were churches everywhere.

Other Sites

Quick facts: The Aztec temple was discovered during construction. People gather at The Angel of Independence when they win a soccer match.

Observation: Their police appear to be better equipped than ours.

Not pictured: They also went to the National Museum of Art where Meagan came across a painting on loan from the Davis Museum at Wellesley College. Small world.

At one point, they took a wrong turn down a very crowded street in a not so good section of town. I wonder if Andres’ parents are like Dave and me in these situations? Meagan didn’t say.

The Food

Yes, she tried everything. She is braver than me. Personally, I want to try that corn on the cob covered in mayo, grated cheese, chili powder, and lime.

The Tacky Tourists

And then there’s this.

Tourists

Next week, she is off for a whirlwind tour through Salt Lake City, Boise, and Helena Montana.
